Temenos Awards Celebrate Client Innovation and Success at Flagship Event

Customer Awards at Temenos Community Forum 2024 recognize the leaders, innovators and visionaries in banking

TEMENOS COMMUNITY FORUM 2024, Dublin, IRELAND – MAY 17, 2024 – Temenos (SIX: TEMN) today announced its 2024 Customer Award Winners at the Temenos Community Forum in Dublin. In line with the theme of this year’s event, the awards recognize those challenging, innovating and succeeding in the banking industry.

Customer Experience Award – Mirabaud

Mirabaud, a 200-year-old Swiss private bank, uses Temenos Digital to develop a mobile banking app which presents client financial data in a more user-friendly manner and helps deliver the enhanced digital wealth experience that the next generation of investors increasingly expects. Deployed on Temenos SaaS, the app ensures high levels of security while integrating seamlessly with the bank’s core banking and portfolio management systems.

Banking Scalability Award – First Abu Dhabi Bank

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the UAE’s largest bank and one of the world’s largest institutions, offers an extensive range of tailor-made solutions, and products and services, to provide a customized experience. Through its strategic offerings, it looks to meet the banking needs of customers across the world via its market-leading Corporate and Investment Banking and Personal Banking franchises.

Core Transformation Award – Banque Internationale à Luxembourg

Founded in 1856, Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) is the oldest universal bank in the country, recognized as systemically important by the European Central Bank. Following a major transformation project, the bank replaced its 30-year-old legacy core banking system with Temenos, completing the switch-over in just one weekend. BIL is now able to handle larger transaction volumes, deliver faster and increase operational efficiency with digitalized processes. The digital transformation program was supported by Deloitte and LTI Mindtree.

Banking Innovation Award – Commerce Bank

Named a top U.S. Public Bank by S&P Global Market Intelligence, Commerce Bank has been serving customers for nearly 160 years. Having first gone live on the Temenos platform with core banking for deposits in 2022, the bank continues to progressively modernize from legacy systems to Temenos, launching a new loan origination solution for private banking customers and launching Temenos Payments Hub in the cloud this year. This modernization is enabling Commerce Bank to bring together sophisticated banking products with high-touch, high-tech delivery that help the bank build deep relationships with its customers.

Sustainability Banking Award – Komerční banka

Komerční banka (KB), a top 3 bank in the Czech Republic, is committed to improving sustainability and has reduced its emissions by 59% compared to 2019. As well as reducing its carbon footprint through the digitization of its products and processes, massive simplification and the use of renewable energy sources, the bank has introduced a range of sustainable solutions such as ESG investment loans, green mortgages, consumer loans for sustainable technologies, sharing of ATM network or fully recyclable cards.

Digital Transformation Award – Eurobank Cyprus

The three-year business transformation program at Eurobank Cyprus involved the replacement of 85% of the bank’s IT landscape including its Core, Digital Wealth capabilities and more. This transformation program gives Eurobank Cyprus an agile, future-ready banking platform and forms a group wide IT blueprint for other subsidiaries in the Eurobank Group.

Banking Agility Award – Qik Banco Digital Dominicano

In just 13 months, Qik Banco Digital Dominicano launched the first digital bank in the Dominican Republic. Running on Temenos SaaS has enabled the bank to operate more sustainably and quickly roll out new services. Qik has issued 85,000 debit cards within a single month after go-live and became the third-largest new credit card issuer in the first year of operations, as well as opening over 330,000 savings accounts.

Visionary Leadership Award – Dan Broten, EQ Bank

Launched in 2016 as Canada’s first-born digital bank, EQ Bank is a leader in digital banking. As Chief Technology Officer and the driving force behind the cutting-edge tools that make EQ Bank a true challenger bank, Dan Broten combines large scale enterprise technology transformations with start-up agility to disrupt the banking landscape on behalf of Canadian consumers. His unwavering commitment to innovation has fueled the bank’s expansion in the market and cultivated a culture of forward-thinking excellence.

Additionally, the following clients were chosen for an Innovation Hero Award for their successful deployment of an innovative solution. Voting was conducted by a jury, as well as peers on social media.

Innovation Hero Award – Capital Bank of Jordan (Jury Choice)

Established in 1995, Capital Bank of Jordan has developed into one of the top financial institutions in Jordan and built a strong regional presence. The bank recently migrated the legacy systems of its subsidiary, National Bank of Iraq (NBI), onto Temenos in under 12 months, with NBI becoming the first part of the group to adopt Temenos Payments. This enabled it to process more than 100,000 transactions of incoming and outgoing domestic and international payments in the first month of operation, with a 99% straight-through processing rate.

Innovation Hero Award – Alinma Bank (Jury Choice)

Alinma Bank migrated fully onto Temenos core banking platform which gave it the flexibility of controlling accounts and balances in a more secure way. In addition to applying changes on the backend quickly and smoothly, it enabled a dramatic increase in the number of newly added wallets.

Innovation Hero Award – CreditAccess Grameen Limited (Online Vote)

CreditAccess Grameen Ltd is India’s largest microfinance institution (MFI) with a USD 3.2 billion gross loan portfolio serving over 4.9 million customers. Since 2015, the MFI has used Temenos core banking to ensure a seamless customer experience while managing its business scalability and growth ambitions. The company achieved a compound annual growth rate of 30% in its gross loan portfolio from 2019 to 2024. CA Grameen processes 90,000 to 100,000 loan applications and onboards around 9,000 to 10,000 customer applications daily while maintaining an industry-leading customer retention rate of 88%.
